Medicare Coverage for Your Unique Needs
Do you know what your options are for coverage?
Do you know which plan is best for you?
Confused on how to choose?
MERCY is a ministry organized to meet the needs of seniors in our community. We have trained volunteer Navigators who understand the resources available to seniors in our community and know how to give you access to them.
We know that Medicare can be a confusing program, but without the right information you may be leaving benefits on the table. Depending on your income level and other factors you could be saving money on your coverage. Discussing your situation with a Navigator is the best way to find out.
Our Navigatiors can show you your plan options and help you self-enroll in a plan of your choosing. Meet with a Navigator in person or call our office to learn more.
Before enrolling in a Medicare Advantage plan with someone else, meet with a MERCY Navigator to see if they can guide you through a self-enrollment so you’ll help your community while you’re helping yourself.
Giving Back to Our Community
Through the generosity of Plan Advisors (a health insurance marketing organization) and Heritage Finance Holdings (a specialized insurance provider to faith-based institutions) Union Baptist Fellowship is able to donate the proceeds of every Medicare plan self-enrollment through the Mercy program to help ministries. So while you’re helping yourself by getting the best health plan for your needs, you’re also helping your church and your community. Learn more about Union Baptist Fellowship on their website.
FAQ
What is Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage plans provide both Part A and Part B coverage, including coverage for inpatient hospital care, lab tests, surgery, home healthcare, ambulatory services, treatment of medical conditions, and preventative services. These plans often include prescription drug coverage. Many plans also cover vision, hearing, and dental. Exact coverages and policies vary by plan.
What are Medicare Supplement plans?
Medicare Supplement plans, also known as Medigap, help cover some of the healthcare costs not covered by Original Medicare (Part A/B), including copays, coinsurance, and deductibles. For these plans, you pay a monthly premium to a private insurance company in addition to your Part B premium that you pay to Medicare. Supplement plans do not cover long-term care, vision, hearing, or dental.
What is Medicare Part D?
Part D provides prescription drug coverage. These plans are in addition to Original Medicare. Every Part D plan must offer the same base level of coverage but exact the prescription drugs covered by each plan differs. Costs for different prescription drugs also vary by plan, so it’s important to consider your existing prescriptions when choosing the right plan.
What about health coverage for non-Medicare eligible individuals?
Marketplace Plans are insurance coverage options available for individuals to purchase on their own, independent of an employer, association, or other program. Like other types of insurance coverage, Marketplace Plans cover your medical expenses, but exact coverage is determined by the plan you chose.
